Abstract

ÇÏÀ̵å·Ï½Ã¾ÆÆÄŸÀÌÆ® µð½ºÅ©¿¡ Àû¿ëÇÑ Ç×±Õ¹°ÁúµéÀÇ Ç×±Õ¼ºÀÌ ¾ó¸¶³ª ¿À·¡ Áö¼ÓµÇ´ÂÁö Æò°¡ÇÏ°íÀÚ Streptococcus mutans (S. mutans)ÀÇ ¾ïÁ¦¿¡ È¿°úÀûÀÎ Ç×±Õ¹°ÁúµéÀ» ½ÇÇè¿ë ºÒ¼Ò¹Ù´Ï½¬¿¡ È¥ÇÕÇÏ¿© °¢°¢ 1 mMÀÇ ³óµµ·Î Á÷°æ 4.8 mm ÇÏÀ̵å·Ï½Ã¾ÆÆÄŸÀÌÆ® µð½ºÅ©¿¡ 5 ¥ìL¾¿ µµÆ÷ÇÏ¿´´Ù. ¾ç¼º´ëÁ¶±ºÀº 10 ¥ìg/mL ampicillin, vehicle ´ëÁ¶±ºÀº dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO)¸¦ ºÒ¼Ò¹Ù´Ï½¬¿¡ È¥ÇÕÇÏ¿© Àû¿ëÇÏ¿´´Ù. ¸ðµç Ç×±Õ¹°ÁúµéÀº 30ÀϱîÁö Ç×±ÕÈ¿°ú°¡ Áö¼ÓµÇ¾úÀ¸¸ç, ±× Áß Bakuchiol, Bavachromene, BavachalconeÀÇ Ç×±ÕÈ¿°ú°¡30ÀϱîÁö ³ô°Ô Áö¼ÓµÇ¾ú´Ù. Ç×±Õ¹°ÁúÀ» ºÒ¼Ò¹Ù´Ï½¬¿¡ ÷°¡ÇÔÀ¸·Î½á S. mutans¿¡ ´ëÇÑ Ç×±Õ¼º°ú Ç×±ÕÀÇ Áö¼Ó¼ºÀ» ³ôÀϼö ÀÖ¾î Ä¡¾Æ¿ì½Ä¿¹¹æ¿¡ À¯¿ëÇÏ°Ô »ç¿ëµÉ ¼ö ÀÖÀ» °ÍÀ¸·Î »ç·áµÈ´Ù.

This study aimed to evaluate the antibacterial activities sustainability of antibacterial agents mixed with experimental fluoride varnish on hydroxyapatite disc against Streptococcus mutans (S. mutans). On the hydroxyapatite disc with 4.8 mm of diameter, 5 ¥ìL of 1 mM antibacterial agents mixed with experimental fluoride varnish were applied. Positive control and vehicle control were 10 ¥ìg/mL ampicillin and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) mixed with fluoride varnish, respectively. The discs were stored in distilled water in a 37¡É shaking water bath at 120 rpm for 30 minutes, 4 hours, 1 day, 5 days, 20 days, and 30 days.
Antibacterial activities were evaluated with the inhibition zone by the agar diffusion test. The antibacterial activities of all antibacterial agents were sustained for 30 days. Among them, Bakuchiol, Bavachromene, and Bavachalcone showed higher antibacterial activities for up to 30 days. The antibacterial agents when mixed in the experimental fluoride varnish with increased and prolonged antibacterial activities can be applied to prevent dental caries effectively.
